In the heat of the summer, there is no better way to cool off in the late afternoon than with a spritz. Campari is a bittersweet liqueur with flavors of cherry, cascarilla, clove, rhubarb, cinnamon, and orange peel. The Campari Negroni is a bolder flavor than Aperol and is typically mixed with other liquors, so it is the stronger of the two. Because of this, the Negroni tends to be more popular with men and women typically prefer the Aperol Spritz with its higher alcohol content. However, I’m more partial to Campari and Scott prefers Aperol. But, we both enjoy both versions.
